ഇന്നാണ് നാലുകെട്ട് എന്ന നോവൽ വായിച്ച് കഴിഞ്ഞത് . എം. ടി. വാസുദേവൻ നായരുടെ തൂലികയിൽ വിരിഞ്ഞ നോവലാണ് നാലുകെട്ട്. തികച്ചും ഗ്രാമീണമായ പശ്ചാതലത്തിൽലാണ് കഥ മുൻപോട്ട് പോകുന്നത് പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രമായി അപ്പുണ്ണി എത്തുന്നു, അപ്പുണ്ണിയുടെ സ്വപ്നങ്ങളു അത്മസംഘർഷങ്ങളും വ്യക്തമായി വരച്ച് കാട്ടുന്നു. ജീവിത്തിന്റെ  എല്ലാ നിറങ്ങളും  മങ്ങിപോയ അപ്പുണ്ണിയുടെ ജീവിതം, പിന്നീട്  അങ്ങോട്ട്‌  നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടത്  എല്ലാം തിരികേ പിടിക്കാനുള്ള  ഓട്ടമായിരുന്നു. എന്നേക്കിലും കണ്ടാൽ കൊല്ലണം എന്ന്  അപ്പുണ്ണി ഉറപ്പിച്ച സൈയ് ദാലികുട്ടിയാണ് പിന്നീട് പല അവസര ങ്ങളിലും അപ്പുണ്ണിക്ക് വെളിച്ചമാകുന്നത്. ഒരു സാഹായത്തിന്റെ പേരിൽ നട്ടുകാരുടെ  മുൻപിൻ തെറ്റ്ക്കാരൻനായി പോയ ശങ്കരൻ നായർ. ഇനി എന്ത് എന്ന് അറിയാതെ നിന്നപ്പോ  അപ്പുണ്ണിക്ക് സഹായമായി എത്തുന്ന  മുഹമ്മദ്.ഒരിക്കൽ  ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട  ആളെ  വേളി  കഴിച്ചതിന്റെ പേരിൽ പിന്നീട് അപ്പുണ്ണിയുടെ അമ്മയെ വേറും അന്യയായി കണ്ട വടക്കെപ്പാട്ടെ കരണവർ,നാലു കെട്ടിൻന്റെ ഇരുട്ട് അറകളിൽ ജീവിതം മുൻപോട്ട് നിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീ ജന്മങ്ങൾ. ഇനി...
